ES Legolas FAO 210
Legolas is a very tall, high-yielding maize with superb fusarium and eyespot tolerance, strong lodging resistance and an extended harvest window. Its large, stay-green plants and well-filled mid-height cobs deliver excellent ripeness and high grain content. With FAO 210 maturity and impressive bulk, Legolas produces highly digestible, energy-rich forage, performing especially well on heavier soils.
Cob Ripeness
Excellent cob ripeness for maturity group coupled with large bulky plant combine to produce huge yields. Cob ripening days after Lovely + 16
Maturity Group
FAO 210. Legolas offers the grower a long harvest window from large stay green plants. Good standing power - 7.8, performs well on heavier soils.
Quality & Digestibility
Well filled cob with a lot of grain. Typically 34 rings with 12 grains per ring. Ideal where a high proportion of maize is fed.
Yield
Sow at 40,000 to 45,000 seeds per acre (99,000 to 111,000 seeds/ha) to maximise output. Excellent combination of cob maturity and bulky plant to produce digestible forage.
