Bonnie FAO 190
Bonnie is a high-performing maturity class 8 maize, producing very high dry matter yields and well-formed, early-ripening cobs. With superb cell wall digestibility (58.7%), strong starch and ME content, and good eyespot resistance (6.2), it delivers top-quality silage and forage. Medium-height plants with early vigour ensure consistent, high-yielding performance for a wide range of growers.
Cob Ripeness
Large well filled determinate cobs with early dent grain and good maturity, similar to Ambition.
Maturity Group
FAO 185. Bonnie is a maturity class 8 variety for the main bulk of maize growers. Its early cob ripeness allows high yields of forage to be achieved even in areas with less heat units.
Quality and Digestibility
Very high digestibility and cell wall digestibility (58.2) combine with good starch to produce superb silage.
Yield
Sow at 40,000 to 45,000 seeds per acre (105,000 to 111,000 seeds/ha) to maximise output. Excellent combination of cob and plant yield to form quality silage in the clamp. Can be grown for grain for an early harvest.
